LEON Joins the World in Commemorating the IDPD

LEON’s joins the world in commemorating the International Day of Persons with  Disabilities; calls for inclusive PWD participation in elections and in a post-COVID-19  world. Regardless of their physical disabilities, the world recognizes the incredible talents, energy, and  contributions of persons with disabilities and proclaimed through a United Nations General  Assembly resolution 47/3 in 1992, that December 3 every year be commemorated as  “International Day of Person with Disabilities.” The day is set aside for promoting an understanding of disability issues and mobilizing support for their dignity, rights, and well-being in a free society.
